Diabetes Support Group

Diabetes Support Groups for all "graduates" of any MGH Diabetes Self Management Education Program who want or need ongoing support.

What : Massachusetts General Hospital offers free Diabetes Self-Management Support Groups for our adult patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes . Participants are invited to bring a friend or relative for further support.
When/Where : These groups are held in a welcoming and private environment that will let you discuss your concerns with group moderators and other patients with diabetes. See locations listed below or call for more information and intake procedure.

Diabetes Self-Management Education Program

For MGH patients with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes

What : The Diabetes Self-Management Education program offers a total of four educational courses and support groups for Type 1 and Type 2 diabetics.

1. Education Course for Type 1 Diabetics*
   (Scheduled as needed - all day course)
2. Education Course for Type 2 Diabetics*
   (Scheduled as needed - four 2-hour courses on consecutive weeks)

3. Support group for Type 1 Diabetics**
   (Meets quarterly on the Third Thursday at 12:30pm)
4. Support group for Type 2 Diabetics**
   (Meets monthly on the Third Wednesday at 12:30pm)

**Support groups do not require an intake interview or membership; however, attendance confirmation is appreciated.

Diabetes Support Group – IMA Practice

For MGH adult patients with Type 2 diabetes

What : A drop-in support group for adults with type 2 diabetes.
When : This group meets once a month (Group will be on summer hiatus starting in June)
Where : MGH, IMA Office, 6th floor, Wang building
